I've been thinking about this a minute. I like the buzz look but the maintenance of it is becoming a total pain in the ass. I use andis t outliners for my buzzing but they can be unreliable, takes mad long to buzz, etc. Plus you have to repeat in a few days.

This other bald dude was telling me to just get a razor and Bic it in the shower. I'm thinking about it but I dunno...what do you guys prefer and why?

Depends on if your skin is prone to razor bumps. because you'll definitely get them around the back of your neck.

If I don't buzz often I will get them, but if I do it regularly it's fine.

I have a sick urge to fill a super soaker with isopropyl alcohol and blast every crunch neck I see:sadcam:

If you buzz it first, then shave it in the shower, you should avoid razor bumps that way. If you wait too long in between shaving, make sure to use some clippers to cut it down first. I recommend Clippers with a pivot motor. Pivot Clippers are way stronger than magnetic Clippers.

Ah makes sense. I will do that then. I do realize sometimes if I wait too long between buzzing it I get bumps.

I just shaved it and I do like it. Hopefully it will cut down on maintenance/grooming.

You have to understand the sharper the blade you use, the worse the razor bumps are going to be once your hair starts to grow. When you use anything to cut your hair, you're creating sharp edges on the ends of your hair. That's why I don't recommend that you press down hard for any of these methods. You are making your hair sharp, and then when you pass over it again while pressing down, you for some of the hairs to go under your skin, creating extreme razor bumps.

That's why most guys go to the barber, and don't get razor bumps. A lot of us don't know our own strength, especially when it comes to stuff like that.

Whether it be shea butter, castor oil, Etc, I recommend that you definitely moisturize after you shave, and everyday you wake up to make sure that none of the sharp hair stick to your scalp and create razor bumps
