A US president doesn't need congressional approval for this attack, nor has there been any historical precedent to prevent it since the War Powers Act was passed. US ships and servicemen being attacked constitutes more than enough right to defend ourselves. The ships are in international waters. They also attacked a Japanese boat. Let's be real here.

The president does. They must notify congess at least 2 days before doing it. they can also circumvent congress if the US is under attack. Neither of these conditions were met by Biden. If attacking and US service people was a reason for war, Iraq and other places with US bases would be bombed right now.


US ships and service men weren't being attacked or killed; which would be reason to strike Yemen. Ansar Allah made it perfectly clear that they are attacking ships headed to Israel in THEIR jurisdiction of the Red Sea. Not only that, not a single person has been killed by Ansar Allah and their conditions for stopping their attacks were simple; stop bombing Gaza.

Biden is striking the 9th poorest country in the world for attacking commercial vessels. But won't stand up to or sanction a nation being sued for actual genocide. No rational person can justify this hypocrisy.

i've long given up the idea of this place being a majority black forum.
