Yeah this ain't gonna be good for him.

I don't expect people who were going to vote Democrat to switch, but I do see people saying "my quality of life hasn't improved and I'm seeing this government spend billions in my tax dollars for Ukraine, Israel and now Yemen. I'm staying home"

And that's exactly what Republicans need to get the win. They're counting on people just losing faith in the democrats and preferring to stay home on election day or vote for a third party. That's how they got the win in 2016 and history might repeat itself again. If "neither candidate" were an option or if votes that weren't casted by eligible voters automatically went to the third party (usually green or libertarian) then we would've had a green party or libertarian president in the last 3 elections. The democrats lack any desire to implement signature legislation that can't be taken away as people actually are helped by it.

The Republicans are a regressive party that wants to strip rights away. American democracy on the federal level is just a joke at this point. Local politics is where the action is. Your voting districts are on the ballot, your air quality and city design are on the ballot, your state can put in a lot of things that can improve the quality of your life. Federal politicians are not serious people and haven't been probably since Kennedy, Nixon, Carter and Reagan if we are keeping it real here.
Not regarding the bolded: yup.

Regarding the bolded: it's like "Then stop doing making dumb decisions to make people feel this way." If they fukk this up, it's on them, period.

Richard Nixon said it straight up when everyone hated Republicans and were right in the middle of a Democratic lovefest that it was people hating the Democratic involvement in Vietnam and people losing trust where he saw the opportunity to steal the Whitehouse. Dude ran and did so. Now imagine how many more Muslims and Anti-War voters there are now living in America.

incredibly stupid optics right now.

If gas prices start going up, companies keep laying people off, etc. people will be asking for change.

Like how they're talking about here:

I'll keep repeating it. Nothing you've stated denies the reality that they fired on US Navy ships in international waters. Not only is this perfectly legal under War Powers, I'd argue it's legal under the constitution. People casually throwing around the word "war" to justify their nonsense are purposely being deceptive here. There is no war. We aren't going to war in the Middle East. We are responding to a group of terrorists who have seized northern Yemen, who are firing on US ships and commercial ships. I can't think of a more slam dunk case. And the fact that some leftist democrats and libertarian republicans disagree is irrelevant.

US presidents also have very broad power to respond against acts of piracy in the constitution and congressional authority (33 U.S.C. 381).

I really dont understand the hoops people are jumping through to be against this. The Houthis are terrorist a$$holes propped up by Iran and playing pirates in the Red Sea with bullshyt justifications. How are people not seeing this.
