Politics is what made your life what it is today. Abraham Lincoln, a politician, signed the emancipation proclamation that effectively liberated black ppl from chattel slavery.

A politician Lyndon B Johnson signed the civil rights act that made it where black people could function in greater society without being involuntarily segregated and told that we cannot enter establishments, go to certain schools etc etc.

Politics has touched every facet of our lives.

Now with that being said, do I think politics will save us?

Hell no. But it has its place.

They probably have a budget for the states. This is for the possibility of additional funding and to see where additional funding should go if they can show that there is a need for it.
