A type wouldn't. So let me ask again you wouldn't have a problem if some types of food and alcohol were being banned?
i used to get fukked up on four loko, which (at least the formulation i enjoyed) was banned. guess what, there was still tequila, vodka, rum, etc & four loko with an ingredient removed to get me buzzed on a night out. they are not banning the entire category, they are pulling a flavor. i don't have a problem with that.

Cool, I'm glad the government made you choose a better type of alcohol by force. It doesn't sound, look or feel overbearing like at all. lol
And it didn't incentivise you to stop drinking at all either. So this ban should really save lives. :mjlol:

Um, your whole worry was about freedom being taken away. It’s not.

and you clearly didn’t read the links otherwise you’d see the potential for lowered smoking rates among AA’s if menthols weren’t offered. There is evidence that the flavor ban has been one of the factors that decreased teen vaping.

The freedom to smoke menthol is. Just cause you don't care doesn't negate that fact.
You undermined the report by informing us of your personal experience. lol When your preferred alcoholic beverage wasn't available you just switched to an alternative. I would bet the majority will do the same. :francis:

please keep not reading...

and the ban of caffeine in 4 loko was due to it being considered an unsafe additive/combination with malt liquor. the ban wasn't saying liquor is bad so let's take this particular one away and hope you all stop drinking period. menthol is being considered the same. menthol has an outsized negative effect on smokers and a particular race of smokers, taking away that additive is about addressing those increased negatives, not about trying to stop smoking outright.

So this is a half measure? Cigarettes are bad but menthol is worse so let's just ban menthol. It doesn't make sense.

the government has taken action to curb things that have increased negative effects or pose a danger to certain groups. half our precautions with rona over the last year were in response to protecting those who were most vulnerable to critical complications or death from rona. it still was a half measure given our infection rates, but according to you, let's not even try. got it.

There's a demand for menthol cigarettes there isn't for coronavirus or more precautions. Terrible analogy.

the analogy is the same, where something poses an outsized risk, there are efforts to curb it - it's why we have a drinking and smoking age, these should go as well since people can still drink or smoke illegally or when of age right?

there's a demand to smoke, if there were just a demand for menthol, people would do like i said - huff vick's. the government is still allowing smoking. you're terrible at this, you have no actual facts to stand on while there is clear evidence against menthols like there was for flavored vapes. if you'd like to see an all or nothing, please go write your senator and get the end all cigs movement going, until then, the focus will be on removing additives that increase the addictiveness of cigs & adversely affect a population.

I'm for more drugs being legal not banned, I said that earlier. I was just pointing out the hypocrisy. Cigarettes generally 'pose an outsized risk' but there's no effort to stop all of it. So take your own advice and 'write your Senator' you are pro-banning all cigarettes not just menthol cigarettes.
