What was the defense bill prior to 9/11 
Edit: Google says around 340 billion dollars.. this was prior to 9/11 and most of this is going to private contractors.
Did the IRS audit this shyt? I doubt it. Our tax payer money is going to criminal, deadly organizations overseas without a doubt.
The guns and drugs that get funneled into this country do so by your tax dollars.

Not to defend Biden but military spending has been insane since FDR. The military industrial complex is here to stay. America won't fall because of Russia, China, ISIS, etc. It will be because of it's own doing.

After WW2 the rest of the world was digging itself out of the wreckage. The US positioned itself against Japan in the Pacific to keep them from getting any bright ideas. But Europe OTOH was shook of Stalin invading so the USA offered to provide defense from the Communists in exchange for us getting exclusive trade rights and military bases stationed in their regions. This is what formed NATO. Thats why nobody else built up their Nuclear arsenal or defense capabilities, and why they depend on the USA to provide protection.
To those worried about china, I would just say this, just because you don’t hear about something, doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.

To add on to what you said, I'm not defending it but I'm not necessarily convinced we (Americans )really want to live in a world where we're not the #1 military.
