TikTok has a far more refined manner in processing it’s algorithms, but I wouldn’t called the app or anything about it ground breaking.

There is some very informative information on there, but the app is mostly used for entertainment purposes and not some educational tool for those seeking information.

Why does China not allow American Social Media in China ? They obviously see foreign apps as a domestic harm , You don't think it goes the other way too?

The ban is also because of the influence the Chinese Communist Party has over all companies in China. If they wanted TikTok algorithms to push videos that discredit the US government or Promote Trump/Biden, then Bytedance would have to comply. With the popularity of the app here in the US, especially with the impressionable youth, there is a fear that they could be being influenced by a hostile foreign power.

Most American social networking apps have already been barred in China. Beijing currently blocks most US social media platforms — including Google, YouTube, X, Instagram, WhatsApp and Facebook — because they refuse to follow the Chinese government’s rules on data collection and the type of content shared.
