Comments like this are the reason why us as black folk will never help each other rise and prosper. It costs you absolutely nothing just to give the names of the programs. Nobody is asking you to do the leg work, just to point in the right direction.

The reasons why other ethnic groups get ahead is because they help each other. Find me 10 black people that will sacrifice and live in a one bedroom to support each other to grow?

I’m just giving you an example of one of the reasons we’re in the position we’re in. There isn’t enough initiative. When I’m speaking to people, I always give them names of various opportunities. I will wholeheartedly agree that things have been purposely done to us to put us in this position. And yes, the government needs to fix it, but we can just expect them to give us stuff. Your average person of any race isn’t being handed anything. Go get it. Yes it’s a lot of work, but it needs to be done.

why would you bring people over to put them on the street? is that even a valid question... you just doing the most to force a point. like these people are getting some pampering.

they won't have a choice about where they are housed. The last time America brought a large group of refugees over it was Syrians and they ended up in basic apartments in St. Louis and so forth.

As a refugee you are put on welfare until you get a status to work and sent to ESL classes or job training and they pay for the medical processing and all the other shyt you need to get off your feet plus they expedite the process to make sure you get off assistance as fast as possible. that's where most of the money goes. to the people working around situating you not you... they don't line your pockets with money. it's not some glamorous red carpet affair. the article literally says most of the money is going to government agencies for this work.

I should know I've lived the experience as a former refugee.

Considering I've posted about reparations for years on this site, including long before you joined it, I'm not sure why you're asking me such a silly question.
That has nothing to do with the resettlement funding. It's a grievance you should actually bring up at local political events and meetings, pushing your representatives to support both an inquiry into reparations for African-Americans, as well as an actual bill to provide payments.

Are you under the impression that Afghan refugees are going to be given state-subsidized housing ad infinitum? They're going to get the same resettlement treatment every other refugee group gets, and have to start working in some industry.
