Americas ability to compete with the rest of the world is depending on this. That's why the government is putting the pressure on. Last thing the government and these US based multinational companies want is the rest of the world get this under control and get their economies going. But the US is lagging behind fighting covid.

Not at high paying positions there aren’t. Jobs that pay a lot and require intelligence have people who were lined up for the shot from the get go. Our entire exec team is vaxxed and so is most of upper management. My salary is in the $150k range and all my peers with the same position are pro vax. Even the ones who are staunch republicans.
