Biden can cancel student loan debt via executive order if he wanted to. All he cares about is campaign funding and the next election cycle.
Even if republicans vote no, at least you have something to present to voters. You can't keep blaming Republicans for shyt that you're not even putting up to a vote in the first place. Republicans have been doing that with healthcare for how long now?

$50k is an awful lot of money to forgive considering how many Americans have student loan debt. Basically like giving reparations except a bunch of wypipo would get it too.
Now, canceling the debt WOULD stimulate the economy since people would have extra cheese. Problem is that college grads with extra spending money and middle class+ jobs are going to invest in stocks & crypto or put the excess in their savings account. The money won't move around as much as some think.
Biden is a centrist and only moved left as far as he could to win the nomination.
The whole "let Congress vote on it" stuff was smart because he knows that shyt will never get through....especially the Senate.
Republicans won't support it because most GOP voters either come from money or are rednecks that don't care about college...so it wouldn't benefit them anyway. They do blue collar work and trades so this shyt is of no concern.

Dems get held accountable for everything. If the Senate was 60/40 Dems, the conservative Dems would push it. It's all political. They're not really "for" or "against" anything except making sure they get reelected.
Besides, $50k is a lot. $10k might get support but fiddy g per person? It's hard passing out $1,400 stimmy checks.

Did anyone really expect them to forgive a large amount of this? This is one of those things that the Dems will 'play chess and not checkers' on and keep pushing this down the road until people forget about it. The Dems are all about raising taxes to pay for things, so why would they cut a huge source of income via those loans and why would they choose not to take care of their bank sponsors? Maybe ya'll will get a 'study' to see if this can be done or some minor forgiveness of like 1,000 bucks any time soon.
