Yeah. Let's everyone act like we've never once made crude, insensitive, possibly even racist jokes before.
A lot of it doesn't have to do with the jokes or him being racist. A lot of the issue seems to be the ludicrous defenses of what he did:
"he hangs with Black people"
"he wants to be Black"
"he was only 15"
Such comments are ludicrous because knowing historically how America treats Blacks, it nullifies such comments. For example, one could postulate that Sterling wasn't racist because he owned the Clippers. In doing so, he was employing Black people. Sterling's comments, however, say otherwise. He made it seem as if he they were charity cases. There's also other racist actions and comments that Sterling has done/said over the years.
As for comments like he wants to be Black, one could argue that much of the racism towards us comes from whites wanting to be Black.
Using his age as a defense doesn't necessarily mean much either as one could argue "how are you even in music and not know the power of words?" It's certain words that he probably couldn't put in a song at 15 and get away with it because of his age. Most artists regardless of age can't put certain words in a song without the very least it being edited for radio. Why? Because of the potential of it impacting someone underage or offending someone.
That isn't to say Justin Beiber is/isn't a racist, but the rationalizing and defenses are laughable.
I wonder why the fukk some people are questioning why this video was just released after several years? Who cares?
Ain't nobody on here was checking for why that bytch released them Donald Sterling tapes.....but because it's Bieber, THAT'S the most important question y'all can think to ask?
:sasugh:bieber in his defense said : "i was a boy then im a man now'
