Big 12 decides against expansion

unbelievable, i thought they'd add Houston/BYU and call it a day. your taking a minor risk with UH having a short run,but its still a program in one of the 10 biggest cities in the country. BYU would have been a solid addition. its not all on Bowlsby, it was put to a vote and they couldnt agree on anything.

dont get it

Not shocked. Texas and OU don't want it. They want to get the hell out of the conference, not add teams to it. Texas and OU also will likely not resign the Grants of Right and the closer we get to that, the more you'll hear rumors of OU and Texas to so and so and this and that.

Texas isn't going independent.

Houston really had no chance. Only Texas wanted them in and it's not because of competition. It was politics in that Texas wants to build a campus in Houston. But 5 Texas teams in the conference? The rest of the conference wasn't going for that. But honestly BYU may be the best option but the Big 12 is the worst P5 conference in college football and adding Houston or BYU or Cincinnati, or even UConn wouldn't have changed that.
