It didn't dawn on me the article was talking about the Xbox One. And with all this talk about features like MP3 playback, DLNA/etc. What will be blocked.
Well coli, I have the answer to that question right now. And its great for consumers

If anyone knows what Skydrive is, its a online storage place where you can stream content to your device or just save files.
With todays announcement of this app being part of Xbox One. That is a bigger deal than people seem to realize.
For starters, if you see the thread title? Then peep this video from the 6min mark (5:30 it starts, but 6 is good if you got A.D.D)

Basically you can share a folder, then anyone of your friends can access that folder like its a channel on the xbox "One Guide"
I watch movies from skydrive all the time on my phone. Have left stuff on there that I wanted to grab later
You can stream music from there as well. So not only can the thread title people can have there own channels for us.
You could stream music while playing a game via snap so this is just another option on THAT issue as well

At the end of the video at the 9min mark, the guy is encouraging people to put videos on there skydrives so they can start using this new feature on day 1

What you mean, I have no issues streaming. Just as long as its not a MP4. I am under the impression that the MP4 file is now compatible on windows 8 so even those should work, but I'll wait til I see it before I go confirming something like that.

8gb on skydrive, more than enough to have a decent amount of stuff on there
