This whole 'white humor' 'black humor' labels are fukking retarded. If anything it's more 'nerd humor'. The show makes numerous references to video games and sci fi (yes black nerds do exist. I mean I'm sure many of you guys have heard of Halo before, right?)

Co-sign. Martin was the most overrated shyt of all time. Never even smirked at that shyt.

:whoa: Hold on now......

I'll agree that some nikkas overrate Martin (especially on here). I'll even admit that some of the humor was corny (e.g. a lot of the insults between Martin & Pam), and that some of the jokes are dated

But to say you NEVER laughed at a Martin episode? You didn't find the stolen CD player 'Nino Brown' scene funny? Or when Martin was trying not to eat the food Gina made while he was on his diet? Or when they beat up the big-ass rat on the island?

I'm assuming you only watched a few episodes of the wack-ass last season, because them earlier seasons were hilarious

Martin was a good sitcom......it just wasn't a GOAT sitcom like some nikkas would have you believe

that show is a product of the laugh track.. The track makes ur brain think its funny. That shyt is not funny at all and i have watched plenty episodes.

:snoop: People really need to stop with this 'the laugh track tricks you' foolishness. It's a lame cop-out, and a lot of the people who use it are people who prefer other sitcoms which happen to not have a laugh track/studio audience laughter. I already addressed this before in this thread:

http://www.the-coli.com/arcadium/22...s-sitcoms-became-so-hated-5.html#.UOVSQYWGOeg

The laugh track/studio audience laughter (I'll mention both since a lot of nikkas think they're the same thing) does NOT trick anybody into finding something funny.....and I doubt that was ever even the intention. It's just there to indicate that the show in question is intended to be humorous and light-hearted, and not to be taken seriously like a crime drama

If something isn't funny, then it'll remain unfunny whether it has a laugh track or not. If you want to say you don't think TBBT is funny, fine.....but don't act like the laughter in the show has anything to do with people finding it funny. If there was any truth to that then all those garbage sitcoms with laugh tracks that were cancelled after one season, would've been more popular and lasted a lot longer. Seinfeld and Fresh Prince had laughter in each episode; does that mean they were 'tricking' people into thinking those shows were funny.....or were the shows considered funny by the majority of people regardless, and the laughter just happened to be a part of the show?

TBBT is one of the most popular shows on TV due to high ratings and enough people liking it enough to watch it. Does that make it one of the funniest sitcoms ever? Of course not. But the laughter in the show has nothing to do with how funny it is. People might not even necessarily like it because they think it's funny; they might just like the characters, or like the fact that the show references internet/nerd culture

:snoop: At people saying that it's "nerd humour". It's humour at the expense of nerds If it where truly nerd humour do you think it would be as popular and accessible as it is?

In fairness I was like 13 when it was on and I don't remember most of it. Haven't seen an episode since the 90's.

Wherever whores go.....
I hated the show before. Theres nothing intelligent about it and I think most people especially in this thread, know it. Its just that Sheldon and Penny are good characters. Sheldon is hilarious honestly hes exactly how you would expect a socially awkward intelligent person to act. Penny is the nice kinda slutty girl whos friendly towards everybody. Thats why she appeals to people.

The Jewish kid is underrated. Dude is hilarious to me. Whole show makes me  cause it reminds me of my cousin and I in college. He was a science major and I was an engineer, and we had a *lot* of conversations similar to what these dudes have. A lot.
