They're revamping the Platinum soon. You can bet on a price increase but I'm planning to hold on to it as I get a lot of use from all the credits. I do wish they upped the multiplier for dining.

For now I use the Chase Sapphire Preferred for dinning, using those points almost exclusively for Hyatt hotels. You get some great value internationally. I'm also routing all my BILT points to Hyatt too now

Atlantas because it’s brand new and where Centurion Lounges are headed, but even though it’s one of the smallest we actually had the absolute best service in Mexico City of all places.
SeaTac is my favorite RN
The Matcha Gin and Tonic :noah:

And they got that separate coffee and kombucha bar :lawd:
overseas lounges in general are way better than stateside; the madrid priority pass lounge is like a vegas buffet.

Heathrow wasn't bad :ehh:

What?! I travel like 5x a year, is the plat even worth it now?
Looks like the best way to go will be AMEX plat and CSP…. So I’ll see what the Amex hitting for when they revamp in the fall..If it’s promising …. Even if it’s $1k… I’ll get that and downgrade my CSR

What makes the lounges better?

Not being overly crowded, furnishings updated and not ratty or worn out, clean, good food and drinks and fir god sakes a good flight board :beli:

This. The 2-3 times I've tried to go to Chase lounges they were at capacity. Never had that problem with AmEx

You get Priority Pass access with the Sapphire Reserve and Platinum though. But those are the lounges that are more likely to be crowded, old and with shytty food and drink options. That's been my experience in the US, internationally they were pretty good

These lounges make you bougie tho. I had to catch myself a few weeks ago, my mom texted me a few weeks back bragging about being in the USO lounge and eating a "FREE Jimmy Dean biscuit". :skip:

The platinum looks nice but I’m really disappointed in the flight credit we get, outside of that, uber, and anything travel related idgaf about the other perks. I pay $700 af for a cc and only get a $200 flight credit :hhh:, make that bytch a $500 flight credit or give me back $600 worth of credit and let me choose how I get to use it :what:

It’s really an exclusive travel card in my eyes. My Delta Amex gave me better flight perks

I found the most value with the AmEx Platinum based on the varying amounts of hotel credits and perks plus the Fine Hotels and Resorts were clutch too. I stayed at the Langham in Sydney and got $200 AUD to use on room service and hotel amenities. I didn’t even use it all. For some people the hotel access alone is worth the fee

Amex Concierge also came in clutch for dinner reservations
