Floating is when you move from one alliance to another. The term was established in BB4 when Jun Song the first female winner used it as her main strategy to get the end. It was always seen as a positive thing until Rachel Riley started using the term incorrectly. By calling people who did not win competitions a floater. Again Dan and Dr. Will's entire game is built around floating.
:usure:I didn't watch Jun's season so I don't know under which definition she was a "floater" but people always called her the worst winner in BB history so floatin however people used the term was not looked at positively, no one ever called Dan and Will floaters so Rachel's use of the term seems correct and contrarians like you have just been tryin to rewrite the definition of that word.

A Lesson In 'Big Brother' Vocabulary

'Big Brother 14' Poll: How Do You Define a Floater?

How do you define a floater? • /r/BigBrother

Jun was considered the worst winner? by who? Jun is always ranked in the middle of pack of winners and there is a quite a few respected big brother fans who have her in their top 5 winners. Dan and Dr Will were definitely floaters. Dan was a floater for most of BB10. He had everything fooled in thinking he was with them in the first half of the game until he teamed up with Memphis to form the renegades. Dr. Will in both of his seasons moved from alliance to alliance as it benefited him. Again floating is a valid strategy that has proven time and time again that it works if used correctly.

:comeon:@ givin links to random people online as if their definition is official, they prolly some of the main ones tryna rewrite the definition. Alot of fans and even past players said she was the worst she's even mentioned it herself on Twitter cause people tell her that all the time you can see people sayin she was the WOAT in her mentions, there's no such thing as "respectable" Big Brother fans:mjlol: (I guess you consider yourself one of them) they just fans like everyone else they ain't better than nobody and if she's in their top 5 winners then that makes their list some shyt.:scusthov: Dan and Will were master manipulators they weren't floaters under the REAL definition and obviously floatin under either definition is a good strategy cause it gets you far in the game, but its not respected by fans and players alike.

Jun is considered a great player by the RHAP, sucks and the reddit big brother community. Never heard anyone consider her to be a bad player. Watch the older seasons. That's what a "floater" was defined as. A player who was truly loyal to no one and moved to wherever the power was.

from the BB wiki
The typical Floater social strategy includes joining no alliances or joining many but having true loyalty to none. The Floaters goal is to stay out of the way as be seen as a non-threat while the Leaders and the Gamers take themselves out of the game. The typical competitive strategy choice for Floaters areselective or passive. House Guests who have employed this strategy include Jun Song (Season 4),Kathy Hillis (Season 12), Adam Poch, Porsche Briggs and Shelly Moore (Season 13), Jenn Arroyo(Season 14), Andy Herren (Season 15), and Victoria Rafaeli (Season 16).
Floater (social strategy)

That's what the original definition of a floater was. But Rachel Riley changed the definition to mean "no comp wins".

Again those are random people, many more say she sucked and she even admitted most say that about her. The main goal of the game is to be loyal to no one but yourself cause thats all you got comin in so it wouldn't have made sense for anyone back then to call that floatin, and Will and Dan didn't go to wherever the power was they had multiple alliances and were able to play both sides against the middle no matter who was in power. Big Brother wiki is even worse than the actual wiki anyone can edit it and they check even less for facts, the term took off durin the more recent seasons before Rachel was even on and she didn't use it as meanin no comp wins she and others use it as someone that does nothin but hang out in the house like its summer camp bein friends wit everyone hopin to FLOAT thru to the end which is why they called floaters.

You even admitted to not watching Jun's season. We are going to have to agree to disagree.

:yeshrug:And? I never said I viewed her as the worst winner I said thats what most people say about her, she's actually the reason floatin is viewed as a bad thing cause she was evidently known as the first floater to win and no one respected her game. Again she herself mentioned on Twitter that she gets called the worst winner alot, and people stay showin up in her mentions tellin her she sucked whenever she criticizes other players.
