You're telling me those 90's kane albums were good? FOH even the rap magazines were trashing them
He was OD on the R and B joints, but they all have some gems.
Kane was 2 albums and then just disposable.. rap ability was still intact, but he needed better management.
I have to give the early pioneers the benefit of the doubt... rap was new and they didnt have a blueprint on how to navigate it.

Yeas, his first and second are classic. His 3rd is dope but not classic. His 4th Prince of Darkness has a couple joints but yeah too much R and B shyt. And then his 5th he waited way too long to drop and the game changed on him but it was actually a good album better than the 4th. It eas over after that.

It's a Big Daddy Thing was one of the first albums I copped with my own money, as a kid. I played Taste of Chocolate all day, as a kid too. So that's a personal classic for me. Huge album in NYC, at the time. And Long Live the Kane was about as perfect an album as you'll ever get from an MC. After that, the climate of the game was shifting so quickly, I think Kane had trouble with adjusting or figuring out his own direction. Hip Hop's whole vibe changed crazy from '88 to '91. And a lot of the greats didn't really adapt well to that.
But Kane is still one of the GOAT's, just based off his early run alone.
