Why did kane and rick fall out?

Rick said something about how Kane is cool but if he got in his way he'd crush him too. Kane weren't happy as that was his man, so after that Kane said to a promoter he wants more money than Rick and be put on last, had physical confrontation on a tour which is implied went to guns.

Can't wait to hear this. When you hear a random Kane song from the 80s, it's hard to deny he was neck-to-neck with Rakim:salute:

I don't even know who I think is better out of Kane and Rakim. Very hard to choose, both two of the greatest.

Good interview. Some great stuff I've never heard before about Kane. If that's true about Rakim and rap mania it seems like he didn't want to risk a loss to Kane ? Turning down $75k to battle seems crazy to me, I'm sure he wasn't getting anywhere near that amount to do shows back then

who had the best debut album?

Rick
Kane
or Rakim???

I've got no idea lol. Possibly Kane, but Ra's was obviously Paid In Full which had a bunch of all time classics too. It's encouraging I guess with the classic timeless artists it's hard to choose, some of this bullshyt now it's easy, cause they both wack lol.

Rakim doesn't seem like a completely money orientated dude at all so I don't think he would have liked to even have the possibility of Kane winning, plus on stage Kane is incredible and Ra is dope but Kane is more of a showman, maybe Ra rationalized it that it would be more about showmanship than lyrics and he didn't want that. Kane would taken a loss better, Rakim has... I wouldn't say ego necessarily, but he takes pride in that sense of supreme untouchability, Kane got pride too but he was confident he could do it and wanted to test his skills.. He seemed down to battle anyone, he wanted to battle Kool Moe Dee back the day, he approached him before he was known and Moe said don't do it to yourself and laughed it off. On stage Kane would have the advantage against Ra I feel, on wax I have no idea, I haven't really heard Rakim do the battle like rhymes in that specific way but Kane does that all the time, Ra is also a true and incredible lyricist though, so he would have some cerebral shyt mixed with an incredible flow. It probably on wax would have been the greatest battle of all time.

Yeah. This interview confirms that Kane was putting quite a bit more detail into his presentation than Ra was. Ra couldn't have won a battle against him on stage, especially if Kane was given time to prep.
