well they do have ADD because they don't listen to a song for more than a month or 2. Sometimes just a month. I saw a teenager try to clown another teenager for listening to a song that came out 2 month prior. I'm not making this shyt up. He was listening to it on his phone and dude said, "That's old" trying to clown him. I was confused because I'm not hip to this era's dealings and I didn't now it was an unwritten rule that you couldn't listen to a song more than 60 days old

My kids will have a choice what to listen to on their own, but they're gonna be fed so much classic music(not just hiphop) they're not gonna want to hear any bullshyt whenever their era comes. I listened to so much gospel and soul growing up, that I wasn't too fond of hip hop when I first heard it in the early 80s. I didn't really start liking it until I saw Breaking in the theater Summer of 84. Even in the 90s, I loved the music of my mom's era and high school days more than my own because I was a vinyl collector(I still am with thousands of records). I always say, and that's to you boom bap head and trap music heads, to make good music and discuss music, you've got to KNOW music. I don't know everything, but I know a lot about each era of music and I'm still learning even at my age. Jazz isn't just about Miles Davis, Duke Ellington, and Bird. Hip hop isn't just about Biggie and Pac, Alternative rock didn't start with Nirvana, etc..The reason why music in the 80s and 90s was so great is that they borrowed from their past and updated the formula. Music is supposed to progress.. At some point after crackers too over hiphop, they regressed it to the point in that every song you now hear in the mainstream is about 1 of 3 subjects. Drugs, bytches, clubs. And they'll let in 2 or 3 lyricists as long as they behave and don't have a REAL Professor Griff moment.

Ain't that the truth. I'm a 90s baby so I can feel you. Music from all genres in general in the last 10 years has taken a severe nosedive.

Also, who you referred to as the "lyricists" (Kendrick and Cole) are actually industry plants that have switched up their style since going mainstream it's not even a joke.

When Kendrick was performing with Jay Rock on his early mixtapes as K. Dot he was the truth, gets signed by Dre and now he's like Eminem's black mini-me and not the good Eminem either, Kendrick's more like the post 2004 Em. He's so trash, but I agree with everything else you said.
