Father mc was the most trash mca puffy ripoff of kane ever. fukk father mc. As a matter of fact. Father mc was in the way. As I feel kane should have been able to adopt and change his name to Father kane as kane got older. Yet Father mc weakest of all the huffest commercial mca way sellout wack rappers.
already blew up the spot.
So kane can never simply evolve his name like that. All because of this wack biter , Father mc.
news to me that Big Daddy Kane was even on Roc-A-Fella's radar in 95/96. I know Sauce Money & Jaz-O were offered deals with the Roc early on, but both were smart to take them as it wasn't like the company was even established at that point. This is likely the Priority days... would've been a bad deal.
No clue what happened to Ranjahz tho....
but BDK fell off just like many-a-rappers did in the early 90s once the scene shifted to gangsta rap
Did you read nikka. @Street Knowledge What part of in pr that jaz and kane said the original rocafella deals were unsatisfactory did you skim?

Why do you not know the interviews or any information before you came here. This is a hiphop forum and you supposed to have your hiphop historical knowledge in tact fully. I know and cited the magazines and articles and time periods from memory. I can not help it. If you never dug in the crate to learn the power of street knowledge like easy e.
Seems you lack and emo. From not knowing street knowledge and need to go ramp.
This whole entitlement act. Like you gon lean on me. When you failed to authenicate and dig in the crate is your problem... not mine.

Why you waiting on mek to find the answer I already know. To overly authenticate an answer for you. Then I supplied the gateway to give you insight to find what you seek. Why are you so special?
Why so entitled?

Kane was my parent's era. My moms and aunts got love for Father MC but they lived that Uptown era, I was listening for the Jodeci and Mary J. Blige hooks. Can't lie, I been bumpin' Guy, Heavy D and Jeff Redd lately. I'm more an R&B dude really, my introduction to hip-hop was from the Tribes, Outkasts, Eric B. and Rakims... lookin' at Kane's album covers by themselves the second album cover is not too removed from the first, look like he always imagined himself as a ladies man.
The difference between the two covers is the house and limo in the second.
Third cover a dead giveaway what he was going for. Third album dropped in '90... by the cover he look soft compared to everyone else that dropped.
Shyt was OD crazy when I saw it at the end of the 90s and didn't understand it being a kid not too familiar with hip-hop.
Now I do and by Kane playing the role, he played himself.
Read through the thread and it seem like Kane lost himself chasing mainstream success and it put him in conflict with his label. On the artist side of things, Kane's style look like it was too easy to bite. I think that was what made the difference between rappers around Kane's era and why they couldn't keep up with the generations after them, they were raised on those style but evolved beyond Kane's generation's ability to catch up.
Looking back at it from people who saw it back then and listening to the music, it was like night and day year after year to up the ante and push the culture forward. De la, and DJ Polo and Kool G Rap dropped in '89 when Kane dropped his second album...
Live at the Barbeque dropped the same year as Prince of Darkness. Kane wasn't going to recover. I see the points being made in the thread.
