Jimmy is doing a great job in the passing game. A good thing for going into the post-season, too; getting him confident and rolling. Also the wrinkles in the trick play stuff can make a rusher freeze for just a moment, which could save his life with the way Staley out here playing.
But on the real, no person going in to this season would figure the 49ers could be in a full-on shootout with Brees and the Saints and be ahead after going down. No one woulda seen that coming in week 1.
tbf no one really saw our defense become a monster either :manny:

Aight, we better get our shyt together on defense. Offense has been incredible so far but I'm sure Jimmy has 1 turnover on his arsenal and we can't have that if the Saints score TDs 4 out of 5 drives :damn:

I get that. But Niner fans should be encouraged that the offense wants ALL the smoke on a day where their vaunted defense doesn't quite have it.

I don’t know if it will be better to come out and score fast first or just grind it down and score

I kinda hope we can score quickly so we don’t expose any more good plays Kyle got. So we can save them for the 4th:wow:

49ers need to get up a score, get a stop, and then grind the game away on the ground as best they can - dominate time of possession and get out of there without allowing for Brees nonsense, especially another Ahmad-Brooks-penalty bit of ref fukkery.

But really, Shanahan just need to not get too cutesy with the calls.

Allen and the "defense" BETTER get their minds right in the 2nd Half.

Without Cook, Mike has to take over to keep the offense moving.

As far as I can tell, every "cute" call Kyle has made has paid off. Most every "cute" call Payton has made has failed.

Along with Cook going down, one could say that's the difference in the game. Kyle's "in his bag" plays are well-timed and executed successfully. Payton not so much.

No question about it. And not only that, but being 2 scores down on the road against Brees is a great sign.

But if we wanna win this game, it's not gonna be purely on offense.
