By the time BIG passed away, he had completed 3 albums worth of solo material. RtD and the double album LaD. + written Junior Mafia and Lil Kim albums primarily + had whole mixtapes + years of HOT features on other rappers songs

That was a huge body of work, and that's what build his reputation when he was alive, and his legacy after he passed away.

If you added up the songs he did, he probably released as much hot material in his brief run as Cube did during early NWA and 5 years into solo career.

His last good album was Predator.

No problem with whom you prefer: Biggie or Cube. But Cubes longevity isn't a big factor here. Majority of his legacy is from 87 to 93. The past 30 years from him is nothing groundbreaking. Mostly a standard westcoast gangsta music.

Cube was better artist by far. I started listening with NWA and the Posse. I love BIG but he has been overrated in death. Gipp doesn’t hate NY rappers. He just was never in to the drug talk or flossy shyt. He is a big fan of P.E., KRS, Rakim, that’s what he grew up off of.

I think that’s the biggest problem amongst hip hop fans. They shyt on longevity if the albums aren’t as good as the artists previous work, and it’s kinda reasonable to think that way. I think if you have more than 3 classics you’re a top 10 contender. Drake has had an impressive run but people will shyt on that. People shyt on Kendrick’s music heavy here (I do too) but if he retired or died after dropping TPAB and GKMC people would have him as the GOAT and some still do but because he drops some new shyt people don’t like universally they want to drop him now. Rap fans too fickle but I like that at the same time but we also shouldn’t praise amazing 2 album runs and I do not care for LAD and I’m not the only one who holds this opinion. More often than not if these artist who died didn’t they would’ve been viewed as washed and way passed their prime.
