Big L vs Kool g rap

If L had lived and blown up a lot more people would be saying L, cause he has a more commercial style and wider appeal. While still being a lyricist, l was a special MC, as is G Rap, G just got that grimey gritty hardcore lyrical underground shyt.

It factually is... no matter what way you compare them. Influence, song writing, content, albums, lyrics, legacy. You see if big l was nas, common, etc you could at least use content and concepts to argue a case, but he's not. There is literally nothing big l did better than G.

Now this one I would say Common is some way better. Too much of a discography to compete against. As an MC that's different, cause L was a great MC too. But as an artist I got to say Common, more depth, diversity, body of work etc.

people need to realize if this is just based upon straight skills it's not far fetched at all. of course you can't compare their discography considering big l only released one actual album but as far as rapping goes it's not some kind of fantasy to be putting these guys against one another. with that said g rap is still better, but dudes acting like l wasn't something special don't know wtf they're talking about. go ask someone when they first heard big l(when he first debuted), what they thought of him and i guarantee they will say he was either just as good or better than nas.

Yes, yes it is. I don't know what it is about nikkas overrating Big L. I love L, he was great. But he wasn't close to G Rap in any way

It's cool my G, just have a difference of opinion on this. I just think G. Rap is on another level personally.

To me, I put Big L in the category of a Jadakiss (He's not as good as Jadakiss, but in that realm). A great rapper, but not as good as the G. Raps, Rakims, Nas' etc...
