The difference is Meech was actually relevant and known to the current generation. Alpo and Freeway were largely unknown to the target demographic.
Him and BMF were name dropped on every song. That’s not including the TV show.
I heard City Girls “Twerkulator” the other night and forgot they said
“When I get my freak on. They throwin' money like Meech home (B.M.F.)”
Meech had enough clout to have his own platform to tell his story, partnerships, etc with limited exposure.
Similar to J. Prince and Suge, the more he talks, the more his powerful aura disappears. They’re not natural public talkers.
Same way Jay doesn’t do alotta talking and controls his exposure because he’s from the pre-socil media era where you can be larger than life.
im not seeing how passing rap references translates to 6 and 7 figure deals... from what entities exactly
and as much as alot of commentary seems not to get this, the target demographic for commercial media is white people... with white children being a focal point.... again, 6 and 7 figure dealS (plural) from what entities exactly
this is sincere curiosity cause i aint seeing the vision
