I tried to listen the other day, since I’m a big Mobb Deep fan and Noyd always did his thing but this sonically sounds bad. Songs I listened to were alright but couldn’t keep it going the whip. Volumes going higher and lower from track to track. Just sounds thrown together. If that’s all he can do after all these years, it’s over.

Doesn’t sound like they mastered it at all to me. Like they got those songs exported at different levels and didn’t take the time to balance them all out to have a cohesive flow to the project. It’s over for that kind of laziness at this point. It’s too easy to have quality now days.

It's bad mastering.

He probably didn't want to pay extra for it. So he just took the songs he had and threw them together and put it out. Which makes for a mad annoying listen for people trying to check this out.

Wouldn't be surprised if this is just a bunch of HQ Youtube rips compiled and put on streaming. I doubt Noyd has access to master tapes to remaster anything properly even if he wanted to, especially our favorite 90's stuff. I don't know if Mobb's catalog was involved, but tons of our favorite artists albums were lost in that Universal fire.

Regardless, it's cool to have some of these available on streaming without having to hear

"AYO THIS IS A J-LOVE EXCLUSIVE"

every minute.

I was a fan of these compilations he had in the mid 2000. You had unreleased shyt and songs that were floating or on mixtapes in good quality. He used to have people like Ric Rude, Trey, and others to provide some ears for quality control. But Nowadays, rappers try to be producer, and mixing engineer at the same. Not surprised that’s the sound is bad.
