Big Pun and Big L are the same person to me.

Pun is miles better lyrical but I'm a fan of both. However, L might be one of the most overrated rappers ever. I've seen cats say he was better than Nas and Jay :francis:

I think L caught that first wave of white kids who loved Eminem and L was their first foray into actual underground MCs. Because of the internet it was wide spread and they thought they were the only ones who knew about him.

L was cool, probably one of the few NY emcees that could really freestyle/flow. Just a fun dude to listen to, actual funny and wtf punchlines.

Pun should be in everybody top 10 technical rappers, arguably top 5.

Both of them just didn't have big enough or good enough discographies to go off. Like BIG only had 2 albums but one of those albums is arguably the greatest hiphop album of all time and the other is arguably top ten all time as well.

Capital punishment was a hands down classic, but not Top 10 all time. Lifestyles ov da Poor and Dangerous was good, but don't think it would be held as a classic without L dying.

Especially Jay, it's go to material for his haters.
And then they bring up the freestyle as if it means something.

Yeah, L was a very talented guy and was a dope rapper. He might have got Jay in that freestyle (even though that was before Jay upgraded his style), but he could never make many songs that Jay has made. With all due respect, he was pretty one dimensional.

Only difference is pun has the famous line little Italy where he just rhymes everything that rhymes. Flow was hot tho

Besides that they both have nothing to be remembered except passing away early.

It's usually the Eurobrehs who think that they can listen to a little Biggie and 2Pac and be hip-hop experts. Saying shyt like if Big L was alive, Jay would be working at McDonalds :mjlol:

not really big on either but pun from strictly pen and paper perspective is probably nicer than big L, but i have never rated Big L he is too gimmicky and if i can predict the next rhyme in your bars then you really not that nice.

i remember the big L ft. fat joe track i used to bump, fat joe washed him out no questions.

enoughs enough, federallis try to set me up - Fat Joe :wow:
