Big Pun 's Capital Punishment - has to be one of the best Produced Hiphop albums of all time.

From intro to outro.
Its pretty much flawless.

And dont start talking about one off songs you werent feeling. This is not an album full of singles. we're talking about PRODUCING an ENTIRE ALBUM to feet a narrative. For a first album for a dude calling himself The Punisher and the album being called Capital Punishment. They hit the mark perfectly.

And it was High quality production as well.

great LP - i'll even give it a classic

but IMO its not flawless

  • too many unfunny skits/interludes
  • too many guest apperances
  • too many songs
  • and a few of dem tracks were mediocre

It's an incredible album in general. It's 1 of the greatest albums of all time to me, the lyricism and flows were exceptional, it's some of the greatest display of skills we've seen consistently throughout an album to me. It's an all time timeless classic to me, I think it's in my top 5 Hip Hop albums of all time. Phenomenal work.

I SAID PRODUCTION. so the guest appearances mean nothing in regards to that.

there isnt an album out that doesnt have a few mediocre tracks. unless we're talking Some outkast, Dre(chronic 1 or 2), or Tribe's MM. pretty much every album has at least 2 to 3 suspect tracks. its a given.

Album was filled with quotables and impressive lyrics. He really went in, it sounded like he was just hungry to rip every track.
Its funny cause i remember my older brother bought the cd
And i was in my mobb deep phase like a muthafukka
So i didnt wanna hear shyt but mobb deep
And my bm (before she was my bm) shes older than me im riding around with her while shes paying bills and running errands and shyt and shes playing capital punishment
And im just in awe
Dead ass cause i wasnt watching videos like that but i remember seeing "im not a player" and i didnt fully get it til i really sat and listened to it
"Dont catch a muthafukkin attitude im just tellin you how this rapper do."

Just killed that word stacking shyt G Rap be doing

Easily in my top 10

And he from Soundview:blessed:

It's up there as far as hip-hop albums in general to me.
thats all i'm saying. When you think of giving a new artist production that matches who he's/she's trying to portrait. they gave him the PERFECT soundtrack. it had you believing in that Punisher name. Even down to the chick joints. even how they tracked it out and put certain songs next to other songs. that was even setup properly.

The entire time i was listening to it back when it dropped, i was like" fat joe has had some cool albums, but he has never had this kind of perfect production to match who he is and this is a fat joe artist. thats how i also knew fat joe wasnt playing around or hatin on Pun being successful.

That man was so dope the shyt was almost a crime
My man said
"My raps are like cables slashin ya facial thats how a master degrades you."
:banderas:
with a soundtrack to match. that was the illest part. i mean how you give me a song with lyrics for dream shatterer and the song sounds like a super hero song? this dude really was a comic book character. this is similar to what the WU did with their sound. it was so perfect to each of them, it made it that much better.
