Biggie I think had slightly more material than Pun as his 2nd album was double disc so that's possibly why I may have him higher. It's really hard to separate them other than that, they have different styles but both are great. I don't think one shyts on the other because they are going for different things, they both do what THEY do exceptionally, and are both two of the greatest.

Biggie made better music and was the better overall rapper as far as flow and storytelling. But just straight up on a lyrical tip I wouldn't argue with someone who says Pun is better. Pun was a beast and it's a shame that we couldn't have seen those two hook up on a track.

actually fat joe said pun would take a huge breath, then rap till he had to take another breath... then start up a new track (pro tools tracking) and continue on... kinda like cormega or eazy e used to do

that's the definition of not having a flow

pun was 800 pounds at that point on yeah baby so.........

captial punishement his flow was fire so i don't know what the fukk u are talking about.

IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII am not talking about anything.. cause I wasn't there

but what FAT JOE was talking about.. was the fact that even on his first album.. when he was closer to 400-500 pounds.. he NEVER spit those verses straight through. he punched in every few bars like cormega does. just listen to the records.. do you think someone could say all that and spit all that.. sometimes bars overlapping the next with no breath??

i don't have to wonder.. cause fat joe already explained it and anyone with ears can hear the obvious punch ins. now if you can't finish a verse without having to stop and punch in, then that's not really my definition of having a great flow. that shyt is doctored up

Listen when Jay said the only Christopher he acknowledge was Wallace. Even I thought, "What about Rios". Big Pun is a Street NY Hip Hop Legend and broke down some doors for Latinos in Mainstream Hip Hop. Fat Joe didn't even have the success that Pun had even though he was behind the scenes. Pun was Super Lyrical and his flow was crazy. "Capitol Punishment" is a Classic Hip Hop album and is still amazing till this day. "Yeah Baby" was a step down but he was going through health issues and the album was only roughly 60-70% completed. Yes it was majority done but they still had to piece somethings together. Obviously on "Yeah Baby" Pun was still spitting but he was getting more commercial cause his debut was such a mainstream hit. Who knows where Pun was headed but what he left behind was Legendary. Better than Biggie? Well I think did some things Better than Big but on a complete level? No. Biggie was the complete Emcee.

He basically had little to no weakness. Pun may spit the fast multi but Big could hit with that viscous slow flow. Or as "Notorious Thugs" showed us, a faster flow too. Big Pun also mentioned many times that Biggie was one of his biggest inspirations and that he was heavily influenced by him. Biggie was the blueprint. As for people saying "Pun is better lyrically than Big" I think that's debatable cause Big's storytelling ability is far more advanced than Pun's and as we all know Big's flow, delivery and wordplay enhanced all his lyrics. I mean why do think Pun sampled Biggie's voice on a song called "Super Lyrical"? In closing I love Pun. He was amazing. He brought some great Hip Hop. But he's not better than Biggie.

Biggie was better because of the stories. But Pun was a terror on the mic. When I heard this:

"Dead in the middle of Little Italy little did we know
That we riddled some middlemen who didn't do diddly"

instant :dead:

Catchin any wreck, blastin any tech
Smashin any chest, passin any test,
Charles Manson in the flesh
Any last requests before you meet your maker?
Sew what you reap a wake up, shakin up a storm like Anita Baker
I'll take you straight to hell and fill your heart with hate
Incarcerate your fate in Satan's fiery lake, then I lock the gate
Make no mistake, "The shyt is Real" as Joe, we follow the killer's code
When we come for you, tell me where will you go?
Nowhere to run, hide, I'll find you and and silence your screams
And even if you kill me I'll still be in your fukkin dreams

i didn't know going to the studio with an artist on your label.. and literally watching them punch in with your own eyes... equals out to being an opinion :dwillhuh:

i've clearly been mistaken the whole time.. i clearly am not listening to the second verse on the first song posted in this thread and hear him cutting in and out the ENTIRE damn verse about every 5 words... his voice doesn't suddenly go higher and lower as if it was two or three punch ins... he must have two voice boxes to overlap his own raps like that doing it one take.. his lungs must be 300 pounds to hold all that air cause you hear a huge breath at the beginning and not another single breath the whole verse

what the hell was i thinking.. what the hell was fat joe watching with his own eyes
