What singles flopped? Guap charted on Billboard for 12 weeks and peaked at 71 (semi hit and got radio play) Switch Up wasn't a single.

:scusthov:

Could care less about Cole his album been getting trashed by the critics.
Metacritic, which averages critics' ratings has Born Sinner at 72, which is for generally favorable reviews. Finally Famous had a 69.

Outside of Cole going gold what else did he accomplish? Sean still got put of the MTV hottest rappers list while Cole didn't twice.
Grammy nom? :manny: Continued to build a fanbase to the point that his sophomore album looks like it will pass 300k? His solo single from the first album went plat :yeshrug:

Sean was on the hottest rappers list but his first single peaked at 71 and he had to push his album back and rework it

And that's my point. His sophomore album is getting average reviews. FF got a 69 and deservedly so. This was supposed to be J.Cole's defining album. 300k is good but can he carry this album to platinum like Kendrick did?

Even with the delays I wouldnt be surprised if he does respectable numbers like 130-180k. These young dudes seem to have a fanbase. Even Meek did decent first week numbers.

lol at Big Sean still getting hate

Finally Famous was a damn solid first album, he killed his appearances on "Cruel Summer" (really was the standout on those singles), and he dropped one of the best mixtapes last year with "Detroit." He already has a strong fan base, and his performance on those things really made him a star over the past two years. Plus, he does a lot of touring, making that fan base even stronger. :takedat:

Dude's got the vision and resources to have a Top 10 album this year. Guests last album were dope, and that's before he was even a real star. I'm sure they're going to be even better this time.

All dude needs is a couple strong singles, and we saw from Finally Famous that he could do that. Being honest, that album had extra singles they didn't even use, but could have; "My Last" and "A$$" were the big ones, but the joints with The-Dream, and with Wiz Khalifa and Chiddy Bang, could've done more if they'd been pushed.

I think he really has some of the strongest brand identity among artists from his class. Really does a good job of telling his story and of showing who he is, and doesn't hop on trends too tough. Looking forward to hearing it.

Whoever compared him to French Montana hit the nail right on the head. There's nothing I feel like I gain from listening to Big Sean for an entire album just like French. Might luck into a catchy single or guest verse but :scusthov: @ sitting down and bumping him.
