I'm only on my first listen, but not even close, in my opinion. This shyt is WAY different than Sir Lucious and not for the better.

There's a few cuts that got the but for the most part, I can't get with this at all.

I'll give it a few more spins because it's Big Boi, but I doubt it's gonna change anything.

It's hard to tell if it's bad or good to me. I mean, I feel like I like it, but I'm not even sure I know what it is. For a lot of the album, it sounds like some indie band with rapping shyt, which usually isn't my style.

With a few notable exceptions, his last album was for the most part what a southern hip hop album. Tho it pushed the boundries of that definition, it ultimately fell into it, as did Speakerboxxx.

This isn't that at all. I don't know why I am surprised that half of Outkast, perhaps the most genre bending mainstream commercially viable rap group of the last 20 years, put out such a strange album, but I sorta am.

Basically I think I just need to let it marinate. After a couple spins I like the A$AP, Kid Cudi, "Thom Pettie" with Kiler Mike and "Rasperries" best.

Jive was the reason Dre wasnt on the last album..bigboi said this time around it wasnt no label issues which is why he sent 3K 5 songs and told him to jump on whatever he wants..Dre still aint get it back to him...i agree tho they cant leave the game on Solo albums...they need that final Outkast full album

for me this is getting better with each listen,its definitely different from his last album .. hes got a bunch of commercial worthy singles on here that could be big hits too ..

im not sure dre not being on here is a bad thing. in the same way that its best for big boi to not answer the outkast's future topics. it takes on a life of its own and dominates the conversation so much that it kinda overshadows his project.
