Warriors were not 100% in the last 3 games, even though haters don't want to admit it:yeshrug:
Falcons couldn't buy a field goal.
Plus they won the year prior and now just reupped with KD and can likely redeem themselves.

Unless Falcons reup with a huge FA signing this loss is still worse than GS easily.

Falcons. Teams have been coming back from 3-1 deficits a lot recently in the NBA so the shock value wasn't as big as tonight's was. Plus GSW can use the Draymond shyt and injuries as an excuse. This Super Bowl choke was truly mind blowing and we probably won't see nothing similar in our lifetimes

Falcons could have done a number of things to sew this up and didn't BUT I actually think the Seahawks were closer to winning their game when they choked. Down 25 with a quarter left, you gotta make some stupid mistakes to lose.

But having the ball on the one with no time left basically and all you gotta do is hand the ball to a HOF running back :patrice:

Giving it to Lynch there is still far from a guarantee. Hell, I remember he got stuffed against the 49er's three straight times the following season at the goal-line. This Falcons loss was definitely worse than the Seahawks for the losing teams.

Now, in regards to the Falcons or Warriors "choking" more, the Faclons blew this and lost this far worse than the Warriors did. Yes, the Cavs needed to win three games in a row, but that can happen in the NBA, not to mention you just have to win each game by one point. It's not like the Warriors were up 40+ points half way through the third quarter in a game seven and blew it.

The Falcons were up TWENTY-FIVE points with under 2:30 left in the third quarter. The Patriots deserve a lot of credit, but you have to make some really stupid decisions to blow a game like that where you have a high powered offense and all of the momentum. If you add the point totals of the second and third biggest NFL Super Bowl comebacks, it's still TWO POSSESSIONS less than what the Patriots came back from. This is absolutely unprecedented, and I don't think it will really sink in until tomorrow or a few days from now.

The 718
Spurs game 6 has to be up there

They were bringing out the champagne and everything :russ:
Yeah that's why I say that and this SB are worse. The Warriors collapse played out over 3 games and had a perfect storm of shenanigans shift the momentum and at the end of the day it was completely tied in the final minute. On the other hand, the Spurs and Falcons had their clinching games virtually won and then made every mistake possible over just a few moments. The Spurs were up 5 with 30 seconds to go, and like you said, they were literally preparing for the championship ceremony! The Falcons just had to keep a 25 point lead for 15 minutes.

As bad as losing 3 straight games is, there's something to be said for how swiftly Atlanta and San Antonio fell apart relative to how close they were to victory.

a bigger choke on a game basis: falcons, shytting away 25 points in a NFL game, let alone superbowl is very rare, and usually involves some timely turnovers and mistakes.
bigger choke in terms of magnitude (strength of team and series wise): dubs :mjcry:

Warriors just set the regular season record and lost 3 in a row....even media was disinterested in covering the finals after they went up 3-1...
atlanta was a very good team with great offense but suspect D, that didnt really show out like that in regular season.

This is tough.

Warriors had 3 games to win 1 more.

Falcons needed to make a few more key plays to win it all.

I'd say Warriors, they had been there before the year before and should have known how to close it out.

The only thing I can't think of recently that compares to this is AC Milan being up 3 0 at half time against Liverpool in the CL final and still losing. :hhh:

This is the difference for me.

The Patriots had a better comeback than the Cavs but Warriors with the season they had, three chances to close out with two at home? Bigger choke job.
