How would he have released it before Tupac died? There were macabre details specifically tied to the shooting. The whole song was structured around it, from the title to the last bars.

Long Kiss Goodnight wasn't just some ordinary diss that maybe was recorded before Pac died and got left on the album. Biggie was bragging about the murder itself, and left clues that would make us consider whether he conspired to have him executed as an act of vengeance. It wasn't a diss song, it was a sick, twisted eulogy.

He made Big change the lyrics because it was too much. To me I have no doubt that Long Kiss was a diss track that he started when Tupac was alive but he altered it when he died.
