I'm going with the A student(Big)

X was never all that great to me.A product of impeccable timing with the whole "bring the streets back" gimmick following the Puffy/Mase shiny suit era.

Not saying he was bad...I think he was at a B,B- level in terms of skill.

Showed flashes of making it to that next level with two songs---Slipping & Niccaz Done Started Something.


But never pushed out that level of music consistently.Became repetitive/formulaic with following albums.

Never cared for his psychopathic fantasy/horrorcore rap songs like "X Is Coming" or "Damien"---cool at a juvenile level, but too "light" of concept IMO.


That mixed in with the Prayer skits made him come off a bit gimmicky to me....The bark's a bit corny, to.

He's the Matt Cassell to Biggie's Tom Brady.


Took over the reigns & was greatly successful early on, but then fell the fukk off.

I think Big's albums are better than any DMX album but as just a rapper i would say DMX is better.
