:yeshrug: So what's the issue?

While speaking to a room full of law enforcement officers Tuesday night during a Justice Department award ceremony to honor distinguished service in policing, Barr made the remarks regarding those who don’t show “respect” to authority, according to The Washington Post.

Just the chief law enforcement officer of the country giving carte blanche to the police to kill, jail, harass and not protect minorities... if the DOJ isn't going to the police local law enforcement and states, cities, etc that have weak accountability standards then our people will suffer

Seems like a bit a of an issue

Ah I misread the OP. I thought Barr was saying communities that don't respect police will have their police numbers decreased or removed all together.

Less cops the better.

Low key Trying to start “the war” :coffee:

Exactly this has nothing to do with "respect" it's just used as a racist dog whistle, this is about the law enforcement and white community wanting to continue to trample the rights of minority communities and anyone they view as "other".

The DOJ can't do that but they can certainly cut funding and training. They can also encourage unlawful and unethical behavior which I see this as... I'm not one for police budgets but I'm also not going to encourage some Serpico Era-esque police community at large.

the subtext is pretty clear... you know how these people think

I need to read the article but before I do, it states that those who lose the protection get to pay lower taxes right, since they are civil servants that we pay for?

I'm sure it says that immediately right?
