its simple how it would help black people, if black people are the swing vote that decides elections, politicians will be more inclined to listen to black voters

Democrats kept losing elections and one of the issues that killed them was their inability to be tough on crime. White America from blue collar families, conservative dems saw liberals as weak on that issue.

Repeal of Glass Stegal? Eh, that wasn't a good idea but the pinnacle of the financial crisis in 2007 started after 9/11 when the Fed lowered borrowing rates to 1% and investors wanted to put their money in something that would give them huge returns (i.e mortgages). This activity occurred mainly under Bush's presidency not Clinton's.
