He didn't. I caught that but should have worded it better. He said that speech wasn't for all Black Americans. Which I agree with. The speech was aimed at younger black people and the hood BUT it was at an award ceremony for the NAACP. None of the people he was talking about were in that building. That audience was made up of upper middle class and rich black people and some "Liberal" whites. Had he pulled up on the block in Philly and gave the same speech I would've respected that. But all he was doing was preaching to the choir instead that room was filled with a whole bunch of people who look down on the average black person anyway so that speech wasn't helping at all fam. Me being a 19 year old college student with a job was definitely not feeling the identity politics that were being spewed as the solution to all my problems and the key to a prosperous life.

The pound cake speech was fukked up, but people using it and saying that it makes it OK for him to go down for rape are enemies of progress.

there was nothing "fukked up" about that speech the message was spot on the delivery was harsh.

It was also the beginning of the end for him. cosby wasnt convicted of rape..mike tyson was but people tend to forget. its selective memory they remember the pound cake speech but forget about tyson rape conviction.

Cosby tried to make his stuff cleaner for all the masses as he grew up. he tried to go the respectful route when it came to everyone. not just whites, but blacks on blacks and blacks with anyone else. thats not a bad idea. there's nothing wrong with taking that approach. you could do that and still admit white supremacy is the MAIN problem while behind closed doors getting at your own people to do better. cause thats all you can do.

as mad as i was at that cosby speach and him sounding like a grumpy old man. was that i could never be too mad at him because i knew what he was ATTEMPTING to do.

making the cosby show, making a different world. he was trying to change us with the methods he could use. he was in the entertainment industry. he knew how heavy perception weighs on people. if they get good looks of themselves in great light(college grads, two professional adult parents, etc, etc. they will eventually become what they see.) even while white supremacy is happening. it will be difficult. but overall they will become better people thanks to those shows/movies, etc.

We know how much he has given to spellman and morehouse. among other black charities. the guy said it, and put his wallet where his mouth was for real. and he still married a black woman.

I mentioned marry a white person and move into a white neighborhood because that's what the average disciple of respectability politics does. They are brainwashed and deluded enough to look at the world as a fair equal place and they think black people in poverty are choosing to get left behind.

But once you are on a Cosby level, marrying a white woman would actually be to his detriment. Think about it, do you really really think Obama would have got elected if he was married to a cac? fukk no.

If all of Cosby's victims were black women, grown women, he would not be in prison. The only reason R Kelly in jail because he was a pedophile, he'd be free if he only victimized grown black women the way Cosby allegedly did whiteys.
