I think there is someone or a group backing this trial against Cosby. Gawker was just sold off and later we found out it was Peter Thiel funding Hulk Hogan's lawsuit.

Im wondering who would have beef with Bill Cosby like that to fund this lawsuit? :jbhmm:
Did gawker get sold already?

Yep, saw this morning they got sold to Univision in bankruptcy auction. I was curious who owns Univison so I looked it up and its owned by Haim Saiban and a bunch of other Private Equity firms. Looks like it basically the Hispanic BET.

Curious to see how Univision will run Gawker though.

For $135 million. Gawker owed $130 million of the suit and the other $10 million was to be covered by Denton.

My guess is none 'cause they filed for bankruptcy. Not sure though.
I read the money goes into escrow until the appeal is over. Hogan was awarded control of the assets btw so I'm sure bankruptcy wouldn't just absolve them if that debt.

I doubt it, tv syndication doesn't dry up after a couple years of legal battles. She's likely leaving because she likes her future and doesn't want a big loss on her resume.

Could be that but I still think it is money. Non of Cosby shows are on syndication but different world.

Shows like fat Albert, the CBS show that came on after the Cosby show and the Cosby show (NBC show) have all been taken off of syndication.

Bill can't make money for appearances and or tours because no one wants him around.

So his money making avenues have basically dried up.
