Last day to register was today, unfortunately.
Actually his credentials are the least "establishment" of any of the major candidates, and he and Thompson are the only ones who don't have a record of corruption or criminal activity. He's never been a businessman or a lawyer or any other such job. His last job was Public Advocate, which is as "for the people" as it gets, and his record as one is solid. He's the real deal, for the most part, which is exactly why he wouldn't have had a chance but for the strange circumstances of the present election. That's not to say his doings are Mayor would be predictable, but in terms of history, he has the cleanest record and advocated more for the disadvantaged than anyone else.

I never said anything about caring about Black people. I was just correcting your inaccurate implications. Another one to correct is that his son is "all over the damn place." He's literally in one, single ad out of the entire campaign. He hasn't been paraded around. As for you suggesting that "he doesn't care about Black people like that," do you have any proof, or just speculation? Look at his track record- most of what he's done benefits Black people more than any of the other candidates' work.

Hes a politician in America, thats all i need to see. The track record speaks for itself. You give him a chance though, i wont. I already know the future on this guy, dissapointing. Keep hope alive these white folks have your advancement in their agenda though. Stay strong. The end result is always the same. After a period of tyrrany they send in the pacifier to pat people on the back and make them feel alright. Right before they get back on that bullshyt.
His wife is a lesbian, and is known for being a speech writer for political candidates. She used the lesbian card to get in the club and got in the game by getting wifed up by a cac who saw her talents as useful for his agenda, making black people think he gives a fukk. :russ She went from stating *I AM A LESBIAN* in essence magazine and championing gay awareness to marrying a white man, having babies and helping white men get black votes by writing speeches.

What I said means exactly what it sounds like, you're doing this whole "yeah I follow politics now so I can make over-generalizing points instead of looking at the situation on the ground" and posture like I know more about the subject than I actually do. Watching Weiner highlights is a lot different than knowing what is wrong with NYC and what issues need to be addressed and which candidates are ignoring them and which aren't. I mean you're sitting here posturing like you know what what's at stake at a time where there are numerous bills that have been passed by the NYC legislature that Bloomberg has vetoed or refused to sign while he uses all his clout to take away a vote or two. Allowing people to sue over racial profiling, paid sick time, etc. You have Quinn, who is trying her hardest to be his double, and you're calling business as usual when there is an alternative to that is opposite in so many ways to what has run NYC for the past decade. No one said he was a savior, we just said we preferred him and that he brought up a different perspective from day 1. His surge has a lot more to do with the Weiner vote shifting to him than any ad with his son. It just comes across like you're implicitly undermining the intelligence of black people to think that all of the people of color in NYC would vote for a guy simply because of that. There is an actual black candidate in this election who is losing to this guy because his stances are not as beneficial to people of color and lower income individuals.
