Ivelisse Velez of Lucha Underground, who was in developmental as Sofia Cortez, and had the best ring instincts of the women there at the time (she had extensive experience in Puerto Rico), had the athletic ability and the kind of look they favor, was let go for what was said at the time to be an attitude issue. It should be said that other bookers and promoters not in WWE have said similar things about her, while acknowledging she has talent. It was pretty much acknowledged at the time she was let go that she was one of the two best women in developmental. She wrote this past week, "If y'all only knew my story. You know who I'm talking about. I was the first. The warning to others."Tommy Dreamer, who worked in that department at the time, said he had a meeting with talent and asked if anything was wrong, and anyone could tell him privately. He said he told every wrestler in developmental they could come to his hotel room and talk in private. He noted not one wrestler did so.
After DeMott quit, Greg Marasciulo (Trent Baretta) wrote on Twitter, "About fukking time."
On Twitter, when the allegations against DeMott started surfacing, MVP in TNA wrote, "Damn. That shyt is still going on?"
