I respect Bill Gates, and all that he has done, especially when you realize that this man produced and sold computer operating systems at a price that allowed billions of people around the world to use computers, without knowing anything about the inner workings of the machine. He has indirectly changed and helped every group on this planet with his product. So Beyonce, regardless of how serious she was being, did nothing wrong by saying she wants to be him.

Seriously, this is why he deserves the reverence he gets within the hip hop community, moreso than Trump or any other billionare.

It's plenty of black billionaires on this earth. Start name dropping them instead
Did they get mad billionaires to give away 99% of their wealth? Did they found one of the greatest companies ever? Did they saved their main competitor? Did they quit their day jobs and allocate their cash and time to defeat poverty not to mention the richest man in the world :francis:.

It's one thing if you say Steven Cohen or a random corrupt billionaire, but Bill Gates means a lot more than being rich and the tech (as in Tidal) angle is obviously baked in that quote.

:mjlol: Aspire to be someone who doesn't know you exist brehs.

This reminds me of this quote:

Rick Owens has become a huge deal in hip-hop—especially with artists like Jay Z, Kanye West, A$AP Rocky, and Rick Ross either wearing his designs or name-dropping him in their songs. But, according to a recent AnOther interview, Owens isn't really even familiar with any of them, let alone listens to their music. He must know Rocky, though, right? The Harlem rapper and his wife, Michelle Lamy, did hit up a few galleries in the city together earlier this month.

Anyway, here's what Owens had to say about hip-hop:
I must admit that I'm not that familiar with Jay-Z or Rick Ross or hip-hop in general. I mainly listen to hardcore techno, old disco records and old show tunes. But of course I'm pleased to have a happy client and I think it is nice that they talk about my products. I cannot imagine rejecting any positive response. I don't supply them with my jackets, if that's what you think. They have to go out and buy them. It is a surprise to me that they would even bother, but I guess as our world is getting more and more commercial maybe it has become interesting to them to look into less obvious, more obscure fashion labels. Before, hip-hop used to be all about big luxury label brands like, you know, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Gucci.”

I don't know a single rapper that has said that they want to be Rick Owens, since it's inception rappers have always set the tone for how they look.
Whether it's Adidas, Nike, Rick Owens, Tom Ford, their own brand or Jordans :what:.

Also why the hell would you not aspire to be someone who doesn't know that you exist, the stupidity in the quote is amazing. Go tell all the illest kids playing HS baller to not aspire to be NBA players, tell politically interest kids to not aspire to be Obama :camby:
