EVs need mechanical repairs too, not to mention the software and other electronic problems that need fixing. The issue is that you just can't repair it yourself or go to your local independent repairman. You have to go to the dealership or a "licensed" shop that has the proprietary tools necessary to do the repair. It's insane to see alleged liberals applauding such blatant rent seeking behavior from corporations.
