I always say...
...if you want a really good example of what the government can provide...
...look no further than your average hood/trailer park.

That is exactly what the government gives you.

breh . . just say you're indoctrinated by whatever you were told in school

Next you're gonna try to tell me about the government's food pyramid :heh:
I guess the bases of biology are products of "indoctrination."
I'm fairly sure the food pyramid has long since been out of use, replaced by at least two other renditions on the familiar.
Harvard School of Public health released a popular and much more robust nutrition chart, which I've seen posted in some CMSD schools.

So yeah, I know WTF i'm talking about.

Now we've got you in here talking about macroeconomics...pretty sure, whichever side you land, you're still an idiot.

I know more about nutrition than you ever will. The board that certified me as a nutritionalist has consulted with me on my theories. You're talking to the cutting edge. I am the reason your lessons will be obsolete in the coming years :leostare:

"Some socialists say that they are simply advocating “sharing,” and since socialism’s advocates have good intentions, it must be voluntary and beneficial, too. Except that it never is. If it were voluntary, it wouldn’t be socialism, and if it were beneficial, you wouldn’t need force to create it and sustain it."

Socialism: Force or Fantasy? | Lawrence W. Reed
The problem with socialism is that the intent is to spread the capital to everyone, but there necessarily must be large amounts of capital concentrated in order to do big projects like skyscrapers, roads, infrastructure, etc.

So the few leaders of government wind up being in charge of those large sums of capital/resources. Even though the intent is to spread the wealth, you actually are concentrating it in the hands of fewer.

You conflated the cold with the flu and with antibiotic resistance, the latter of which, you didn't even know how it worked.

Just stop it.

You talking about Sweden. I'll buy that country in 2020 when it's bankrupt

the netherlands actually has a higher GDP than Sweden. I'm talking about all of Scandinavia...all of those countries are doing well economically, and their citizens are much more happier in general than Americans are

:francis: Nah bruh..the socialism was hurting their economy they had around 1% growth for many years,If it wasnt for Oil,natural resources and -ve population growth they would have turned into Greece they actually have moved away from socialism in fact America has more growth and productivity EVEN AFTER the cost of running the most expensive militarily machine the world has ever seen..if it wasn't for that wastage we would all be way richer than any Scandinavian country

In response to Americans frequently referring to his country as socialist, the prime minister of Denmark recently remarked in a lecture at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government,

I know that some people in the US associate the Nordic model with some sort of socialism. Therefore I would like to make one thing clear. Denmark is far from a socialist planned economy. Denmark is a market economy.

The Danish Model — Don’t Try This at Home

So, Denmark first became rich, and then introduced the government programs that make up the welfare state. The huge increase in government spending has been accompanied by deep structural problems, which has made it necessary to reform the Danish economy and welfare state. It can hardly be claimed that introducing the welfare state made Denmark rich; rather it was the other way around. Denmark first became rich, and then the authorities began to redistribute some of the wealth.

And it would certainly be ironic if the Danish case were to become an excuse for politicians in the United States, Greece, or other countries to avoid fiscal consolidation and economic reform, since we Danes have been reforming and consolidating for decades to deal with the problems created by the introduction of our welfare state.

This thread:

That's not socialism!!!!

Shut the fukk up, nobody cares. Words mean different things to different groups of people and literally no one cares about the difference between democratic socialism vs. socialism. If there even is one. On top of that, you use every failure of governments who tried to implement socialism to somehow blame to everyone else.
