Sounds like they've already parted ways. Zach Lowe mentioned on his podcast how recent developments left a huge hole for Monday podcasts (obviously Simmons Ball Don't Lie) and then Jalen and Jacoby were saluting him and talking about how they miss him in the present tense and basically coming off like he's already out.

Optimistic But I Got Hands Tho
My man really took his ball and went home. Haven't seen him do a podcast since. :mjlol:

They got Zach Lowe doing like 2 podcasts a week now. :patrice:

Skipper was smart to announce this during the Playoffs because this is the time Simmons wants most to talk his talk.

I think they did this because they didn't want to pay a sports media person 5+ million dollars a year anymore.

Especially with how much they had to pay for the new NBA tv Deal.

Gaming rights are the most important thing nobody talking about sports is worth what Simmons was getting paid and they didn't want any one else thinking that Simmons contract was negotiating tool.

Nope, Its about money. They really don't give a fukk what these dudes say.

They don't view Simmons worth 5 million plus and they are right. Bill Simmons leaving won't hurt ESPN one bit but it will hurt Simmons

this sht is personal bruh. got nothing to do with business. YOu dont get thrown to the bushes like this, especially if you have months left on your contract.

Its always business.

There isn't just one person making the decisions.

Simmons contract was coming up and they were already paying him 5 mill. They don't value Simmons to like that and they are right.

I think it could be both. ESPN has a long history of being vindictive as fukk in these situations, though.

I'd be fairly certain that's ESPN's decision, not his. If he really quit on them, they wouldn't be paying out his contract.

Come on now. If it was about money, then why would they pay a guy millions of dollars to do nothing while his contract runs until September?

Why would they have suspended him multiple times when he was one of their highest drivers of traffic?

Why did they fire that Gregg Easterbrook guy (name was something like that) for something he said, when that was another of their most popular columnists?

Did he really stop doing his Podcast (Bill dont lie or whatever it's called) ? It was actually pretty good

I may be in the minority, but I find Jalen annoying at times
