Bill Simmons Suspended By ESPN For 3 Weeks

Billy built Grantland. He found the talent and runs that whole ship. He probably gets more traffic on Grantland than ESPN's site gets now. He's been getting more and more outspoken the past handful of years. I wouldn't be surprised if he's planning on splitting and taking the talent with him. ESPN doesn't strike me as smart enough to throw a non-compete in for most of those people Billy signed up (Lowe/Jacoby/Barnwell). NBC is probably in the background like

I mean I think Simmons is a cornball as much the next dude, but suspending him for this seems minor. Especially when others have said the same thing and all he stated was a couple of cusses. That podcast has been up for days and they didnt have a problem before it was posted

yea i work with middle aged cacs and could see it. being a young white guy i don't get why though. Simmons is weak, terrible on tv, But, he did probably just get a 3 week paid vacation

I mean who cares...simmons does an article himself on grantland every other week...a podcast every week...i can listen to the guy talk about sports but any of his podcast about pop culture are horrible...

And at least to me...on the NBA...which is what he is known for...Zack Lowe shyts all over him at this point...Lowe is a REALLY good NBA analyst to me and it will be interesting to see what would happen to him in the future...

Simmons taking Grantland going somewhere else...ah...I doubt ESPN would really give a fukk...to me Bill has been throwing shots at ESPN for awhile now and I think there is a reason for that...

ESPN iholds the Dish Networks and Direct TV's of the world hostage (people should really look into exactly why the price of cable and/or satellite tv is so high)...so no matter how much money Grantland makes them with "hits" I promise you it isn't close to that cable conglomerate money...

ESPN had to suspend him after he said what he said about he dared them to...what else where they going to do?

SImmons get's to look like a bad ass and at least for a little while we can all pretend like he doesn't sound like a 14 year old boy

Always wanting to deflect and put the negative attention on nikkaz, when it's been proven he lied about the NFL having the tape. shyt is a joke.

However, I don't want Goodell to be fired (just suspended).

Think about the alternative brehs.....he's in trouble for going too light on Ray Rice and lying about the tape. He basically was trying not to ruin dude's life based on being a 1st time offender and Janay's pleading with him during their meeting with Goodell.
