RIP. I absolutely love his story. Entered the music business at 30, had to take the album cover photo at his job b/c he was still working a 9-5, didn’t let the music industry change him, lived a non public lifestyle & stayed married to his black wife until death.

That's that Just As I Am cover. His first album and some of my favorite classics are on there. Grandma's Hands hits you differently after losing a grandmother.
