Exactly. Most people, are parents and don't have time to keep up with the latest tech.Tidal isn't a brand name...
The majority of the public haven't even heard about it yet...I legit know plenty of n1ggas that don't even know about Spotify...
The majority of the country isn't as tech savvy as college students and people that browse message boards frequently... If the radio isn't still spoon feeding them stuff, they have know desire to go search it out...
Look at that lineup. Incredible.
As for Ye's album rollout, he's crazy but not stupid. We've been talking about this dude for the past 2-3 weeks non-stop. He has the most wanted shoes in the world right now. Did his own fashion show at MSG, played SNL, made headlines, etc, etc.
There's no way you can tell me this wasn't planned. If he wanted to have a normal album rollout, he would've.
Lol, hes not even a genius either.
Can you post that info?
It's too late now. Tidal ruined it. Just like they messed up with Rih, but luckily rih was smart and still got paid b/c of samsung. Kanye is missing out on a lot of money and he really seemed to need it since he loss 53million. His main way to earn anymoney rn was through his music. I don't think he has any endorsment deals and probably won't be getting any anytime soon since the taylor swift thing. By the time his album gets on itunes and in stores where more people can get it, it'll be too late. Everyone will have gotten it illegally by then. It'll probably be on youtube already as well. Rih's whole anti is on there.
Tidal needs to learn that exclusives will not work. They should know that by now. The artists involved are just missing out on money. I hope that Cole doesn't have to release his next work on there exclusively, I know he won't have to if it's a collab with kendrick.
They better release beyonce's album as an exclusive as well. If she doesn't, it'll be clear that it's sabatoge. Maybe after her album doesn't do well, they'll stop trying with the exclusives. If she does do it as an exclusive, it gives her an excuse to try new things, I guess, like the crappy lyrics with beats to dance to. Similar to formation.
Anyway. Tidal sucks, as usual
People need to stop making streaming services b/c obviously, everyone is ok with spotify. What they need to do is figure out how to get paid more for streaming. They should also figure out how to stop or slow down people from stealing it. Getting more money from streaming seems much easier though.
How? I have to download tidal create an account and remember to cancel it or I can go to iTunes, buy this album with my existing account and have it on my phone. Why would I start another streaming account when between legit purchases on iTunes and my paid streaming account on Spotify I have my bases covered (aside from datpiff, etc mix tapes)? shyt has nothing to do with being a crab, it's 2016, people are on the platforms they're on, they shouldn't feel obligated to switch or fire up another platform to hear an artist's music, this just leads to bootlegging.
Apparently all your bases are not covered if tidal has some exclusives you want... if you can make legit purchases on itunes you can do it on tidal as well
I have never heard of the tidal store until this post, that's tidal's weak ass marketing. Secondly, that still requires me putting it on a PC then transfering it to my phone, more steps than if the album was released everywhere and I could cop it from iTunes (I'm on an iPhone).
Lastly, as stated in my previous post, my beef goes beyond the tidal thing...as I don't really care there, Apple and tidal are gonna play the exclusive card for the foreseeable future...it's the whole rollout from ye, there's still no complete finished album, why would I buy this WIP?
He'll make money off of touring, festivals and Yeezys.
Only the general public is fine with Spotify. The artists feel like Spotify is holding out from them which is why they are aligning with Tidal and Apple.
Wtf is this horseshyt? Who said Mamba was a genius? Weirdo. What has kanye done that no other producers have? Oh yea. Make bullshyt and call it "art". No you lames, its just garbage.U think Mamba is a genius?
If we go off of IQ, probably neither of them.
But if it's ability to do things that very few people alive are able to...
I give it to both of em.
I believe that Kanye really is the OG of many of the styles used by today's 'favorite rappers' between 808s and songs like Jesus Walks and Drive Slow.
Because it makes people talk. Why do media outlets keep taking that 53 million debt tweet so literally? He's already explained that he was simply saying he's spent 53 million on investments in the last 13 years.
Yeezys are very popular but they make them very limited atm. Doubt he makes much with so little product.Yeezys will never make him as much money as music can. I don't even think those shoes are popular. I don't know anyone who wants any and I only know one person who has them. Idk about how well his tours do.
Yeah they were charging 20 for kanyes albumTidal has a digital download store? That explains when I signed up to recieve a free digitital version of Rihanna's new album, the email kept talking about Tidal.
"Still, demand for Pablo was high, as evidenced by the 500,000 downloads (estimated by TorrentFreak) pirated in its first 24 hours. A conventional release could have sold 400,000 copies in its first week, one retail executive estimates, which at standard wholesale pricing would equate to $3.6 million in sales revenue -- a blow to the rapper, who claims debt of $53 million from his fashion exploits. At this point, the rollout has become tantamount to an artist-sanctioned leak before the label even has its hands on it. Multiple sources tell Billboardthat Def Jam and UMG are working closely with West on several possible release strategies and that a physical version is due, perhaps as a deluxe edition or a bundle with another West product"
Ye really fukked up
