All this proves is that younger fans are purchasing the major recording music artists albums based on popularity not quality

But most of those artists are in 360 deals

Indy is better for aging artists

I thought they merged with Virgin instead?
EMI bought Virgin back in the 90s. Universal then bought Emi back in 2013. Well all of the big three labels own former parts of Emi. Universal took the recorded music, Sony took the publishing and I forget what Warner got

They even fukked up A sure fire star in Alessia Cara. She has a top ten smash single and did like 20k first week. Nobody even knows what she looks like. She says she can walk outside with no security or nothing smh

dreadful wow
Logic is like their only saving grace. They almost fukked him up because that rollout for his album was as dreadful as the others (Ross, Jeezy, Alessia). I was familiar with him before he blew up and follow his career because of that and didn't even know his shyt dropped when it did. I remember seeing the promos and shyt earlier in the year but forgot about it until it came out and he was on the breakfast club. Some way some how he sold more than he did last time. His fanbase is strong.

I think Def Jam might dissolve. The way they've been releasing shyt seems like they're trying to abandon ship.

they even fukked up ross's release. There was little to no promotion and the album was undershipped. Ross never did amazing numbers but in the past, there would be way more promotion and i could go to my local target and the shelves would be full of ross's album. Now i cant even find ross's album in my target.

Im pretty sure they are gonna fold into Republic eventually. Seems like their is a overall shift in focus to pop acts anyways. So they will be right at home along side the Taylor Swifts, and Ariana Grande's of the world.

@The HONORABLE SKJ how do you feel about all of this :lolbron:
