no erick sermon

im not a huge dilla fan but 21 is disrespectful

i do like the top 5 though

timbo could have been top 3 if he didnt get lazy

madlib is overrated and underrated to me
depending on who and what you're talking to

I feel like Dilla is way more hiphop but madlib transcends hiphop alot of the time
his beats seem held back and weak with these new rappers...thats why I havent fukked with them
madvillain was him being weird and comfortable

I feel like rza made the same mistake... he can technically kill without samples but he isnt weird and comfortable anymore
he tries to be deeper and complicate shyt instead of being basic and hiphop

Zaytoven is dope, but has always been one of the most overrated producers on here. Like, ya'll ve putting dude over people with much larger impact and influence. Then tl say he invented trap. Ya'll be all over the place with. One day, its "DJ Paul & Juicy J invented trap" then its "Shawty Redd invented trap" then its "Lex Luger invented trap".

I doubt they sit uo there and make these lists to make people mad. ANY list will do that. If you posted your list, it'd be people ready to take your head off no matter how well intended or good willed it was.

That said, Mustard isn't Top 25.

I think when they leave Alchemist and Tip off and put Dilla and 9th that low and put Swizz, Hit Men and Hit Boy (who all 3 I think are great producers and have classics btw but you know how certain people feel about them) they know exactly what they're doing:sas1: Especially after that mini Dilla v D-Dot discourse on twitter few weeks back lol

Also for a hits/era defining list Im surprised they didnt wanna throw Trackmasters on there

Stop posting articles written by people who don't know shyt about the subject they are writing.

Anyone can come up with random list and then insert some AI generated text for each selection. I hope they only get paid pennies for this type of work.

Or maybe they just don't collectively feel that highly of those producers. Q Tip is #6 by the way. Hitmen you can't really leave off a Top 25 especially if we include who all made up the Hitmen and we're looking at albums like Ready To Die, Life After Death, No Way Out, some of Jay Z's best songs and one of his best albums (American Gangster). Not even just artists and albums, but when we think of Bad Boy's contribution of the as a whole, none of that is possible without The Hitmen.

I think Alchemist is at least Top 25. If ANYBODY creates a Top 25, someone is going to be left out. It is what it is. Are some of the omissions egregious? Of course, but that's to be expected with any list. And all lists are going to invite anger from people who strongly disagree. Lists are created to generate discussion both positive and negative. The intent isn't to make anybody mad, that's kind of entitled to say "they just made this list to piss people off" just because you don't agree with it. I don't agree with it either, but it is what it is.

They already have Kanye at #2 and that whole sound was something 40 borrowed from 808's and Heartbreaks. Then there's a lot of borrowing from Jodeci and Da Bassment.

Zaytoven was never on the level of Shawty Redd, Toomp, or Drumma Boy when it came to the trap sound. He even got surpassed by Mike Will, Lex Luger, and 808 Mafia in that regard.

Zaytoven better than nearly all those producers you names especially musically.

This is a list made by Billboard Magazine. Alchemist is obviously great but has he ever produced even a top 50 song?
The average non hardcore hip-hop fan has never heard of him. Being upset that he’s not on this list is silly.

That's subjective. They definitely have more impact than Zaytoven. Again, I never got the push for Zay to be GOAT and I've been following his work since "So Icey".
