Cassel does not have the answers. However he will 1) win enough games to help Whaley keep his job and 2) act as a bridge to a developmenal QB like EJ. Whaley is as shrewd and calculating a GM as I've ever seen.
Cassell brings experience. I'm not sure what he's got at this point but I understand it from Rex's point of view. Get a vet in there, the QB market isn't big/quality this year anyway.
