Billy D is a good dude. He deserves the opportunity for real. He took over Florida damn near 20 years ago when he was young as fukk. They've achieved greatness a number of times.

He deserves this. Always respected that man :yeshrug:

He just grew tired too of how recruiting had changed over the last few years. Remember how when he was fresh at Florida how he brought in all those Mcdonald's All American's his first 5 seasons (Donnell Harvey, Miller, Dupay, Brett Nelson, James White, Kwame Brown, David Lee, Anthony Roberson) and what not? Once they started leaving after 1 or 2 years or transferring because of PT and stuff, he fell back and went the Tom Izzo route of just mainly targeting the 3 and 4 year type of players. I'm like you, he's earned it. I never felt he was gonna last as a college coach forever. Hell even before we won our 1st title, he said he'd prefer to go to the NBA and be an assistant for one year to learn the ropes before being an NBA head coach.

I swear cats don't hear me on this...But Dwight signing that extension with Orlando was the dumbest thing he could of done he should of went to the Nets....It would of legit been better for both teams and players involved....But Orlando legit won that trade out of all teams involved. Bynum not in the league, Howard I don't know what's up with him and the other players are all on different teams.

Vuccimane got next.

Speaking of the Orlando deal in 07...Anthony Grant LOST in the long run. He was coming off that win at VCU over Duke in the tourney, Donovan leaves and he's basically the only one we all wanted to replace em. Donovan comes back, Grant goes to Bama and eventually gets fired. Decided to come back to UF a few weeks ago to be an assistant under Donovan and now Donovan leaves and he's probably not going to get the UF job or even taken with Donovan to be on the OKC staff

Who are they talking about to replace Donovan?

If they wanna keep it in house or people who's been an assistant under him, probably John Pelphery and/or Anthony Grant and maybe even Larry Shyatt cause he was under Donovan the longest. Outside of that, i've heard buddy Archie Miller from Dayton name being thrown around as well as Rick Pitino's son (talk about nepotism, he ain't accomplished shyt yet)

What is his approach? I dont watch much college ball

Why do you like this?

Go after thibs or carlisle
He's open-minded and forward-thinking - one of the few college coaches who's adapted to analytics - which we all know Presti and the Thunder FO are all about. I kind of wish they would've waited though, and seen what other coaches would make themselves available (who the hell wouldn't wanna coach the Thunder?), I mean Carlisle on this team would be straight cheating.

Cause at the end of the day he's still gonna be a rookie coach and I don't know if that's the best thing for a ready-made team. :manny:
